Meet Matt!

Matt is willing to learn, and he was excited to learn that Calvary Church was hosting a Money & ME program this past spring.  Matt works at Lowe’s and currently lives with his parents. One of his goals is to be able to move out on his own and he recognized he needed to learn how to create a budget.Matt loves guitars, trucks, and electronics. After completing the “Needs versus Wants” activity he began to realize that he didn’t “need” another guitar, computer or iPad.  He also discovered that he was spending over $2,000 each year on cigarettes.

The trainer and others worked with Matt to help him use a calculator and learn other basic math skills.  He started working on what a budget would look like when he moved out on his own.  He is recognizing how little things can add up to big things and learning new ways to save and budget the money he has.  Matt is working with his girlfriend, Andrea, who attended the program with him.  Congratulations to both Matt and Andrea to being faithful to attending classes, learning new concepts and applying their knowledge!
