Marion Matters is a nonprofit in Marion, Ohio whose mission is to provide leadership in developing and sustaining pathways out of poverty through education and support. Christina Wyatt is the Program Coordinator and she met Sara Money at the “Aha Poverty Conference” in St. Louis, Missouri last September. Christina had tried other money management curriculums, but they were not suitable for the people who are attending the classes. After seeing the Money & ME workbook, she feels that the simplicity and practicality will work. Last month, Christina and two volunteers began the Train the Trainer online through Money & ME University. They started in January, 2018.
Christina home schools her own children and understands the importance of teaching in various learning styles and appreciates how Money & ME addresses multiple learning styles. She says that the people they are teaching are at the stage of opening their bills which can be overwhelming when they do not know the next step and how to deal with them. Christina also appreciates that the workbook is not too big and has multiple pictures throughout it. She also appreciates the versatility of the program. They will do three sessions of two hours each week!
