Genevieve Dash receives $800 each month living on disability, but that doesn’t stop her from helping others. She has learned how to “stretch” her money and she helps others to do the same. She knows the laundromats that offer free drying on certain days, and shares that information with others who are struggling. She buys $20 in tokens at the laundromat knowing that she will receive $2.00 in extra tokens so that she can help those in need. At Christmas, Genevieve buys the McDonald’s “Celebration Pack” which has coupons for free burgers, apple slices and milk. She gives these freely to the children that she meets. Genevieve lifestyle is investing in people around her who have needs. Her scripture verse that she lives by is Proverbs 28:27. “Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.” Genevieive used to work as a bank teller in the 1980’s and reports she made very good money. Her father asked her, “Why do you not have more in your savings?” She replied, “Because I want to invest in people around me. If I can help someone with clothes, toilet paper, toothpaste, etc., then that is what I need to do.” Genevieve had a vision to start “Lady of Vision Enterprise – L.O.V.E.” in 2002. Although, it never became a formal organization in the sense of becoming a non-profit, Genevieve continues to help people daily through meeting with others where they are at: the laundromats, grocery stores, and on the streets. Genevieve has a new vision of teaching people the Money & ME Program and became a trainer last January. She works with many people in Southeast Albuquerque and would like to offer this to them. She has a location available, but would need a sponsor (or sponsors) to purchase the materials. Her goal is to teach 15 people in the next few months. If you would like to contribute toward the materials for the program, the cost would be $524.25 (non-profit price).
