“St. Vicent de Paul in Peoria, Illinois utilizes lay volunteers to grow people spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are lacking resources and suffering. Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are keenly aware that poverty, suffering and loneliness are present for many in their community. One of their programs is called “Coming Together to Get Ahead” (CTGA) and offers classes and mentors. A volunteer is completing the online “Train the Trainer” and they will be starting Money & ME this month. It is exciting to see the potential of individuals and communities changing as they learn strategies to take control of their money!
