The Pueblo of Nambé, or Nambé Owingeh, is one of the six Tewa-speaking pueblos of the northern Rio Grande region. It is located about 15 miles north of Santa Fe, at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Today, Nambé Owingeh is still known for its beautiful public ceremonies and traditions, stunning landscapes, strong agriculture, traditional textiles, and world famous pottery production. The Nambé Family Self-Sufficiency program is a voluntary agreement between public housing residents and their housing authority. The agreement requires participants to take a financial literacy program. This is the second year that they have chosen Money & ME to help those in the program fulfill that agreement. This Summer, Sara Money (Director & Developer of Money & ME) led a class in Nambé. The participants had great discussions about credit, co-signing loans with family members, and ways to save money. Money & ME is excited to help the people receiving financial assistance in Nambé take control of their finances.
