In 2013, Love INC Of Littleton, Colorado learned about the Money & ME Program being developed in Albuquerque, NM. Staff and volunteers came to Albuquerque for the “Train the Trainer” training and they began to pilot it in their community. Over time, they have seen the greatest success when there are individualized incentives, ongoing mentoring, and accountability for each participant. This affiliate has been working diligently on increasing training for volunteers and establishing relationships with the community so they could launch their new IMPACT transformation ministry program on April 27! Money and ME will be used as their core curriculum for their money management track. Carl Cleveland, Transformational Ministry Coordinator, shares his experience with Money & ME.
“This excellent course is designed to work well for our client demographic (low-income) providing the right level of budgeting and information to reduce money owed (debt). We will be supporting what our participants learn with long term mentoring to guide each family in setting specific goals, developing and maintaining good budget and money skills and providing accountability as they reduce debt. As they participate and progress toward their individual goals, they will be rewarded with weekly incentive packages tailored to their needs.
